New Year's Wreath (Free Pattern!)

This is a free Tutorial for a beautiful crochet New Year's Wreath! I made this wreath back in 2015, thus the outdated blackboard sign on it.

You will need:

(I purchased the small flag chalkboard at Michael's)

Chain 23 with Vanna's Glamour Lion Brand yarn.

Row 1-
hdc in 2nd ch from hook and in each chain until the end. Ch1, turn.
Continue until work measures between 30-34 inches.

It will be shorter than the wreath but it will stretch out once you sew it around it.

To sew your work around the wreath, I found it helpful to pin it in place on the foam:

Now, make 15 stars. The tutorial can be found HERE

Once you are ready to assemble everything, use a hot glue gun to secure each star to the wreath in whichever color order you decide.

Then I added a long pin to the wreath, about halfway between the first and last star, towards the bottom of the wreath. This is where the chalkboard will be hung:

To make it look a little nicer, I used my hot glue gun to secure a sparkly button to cover the pin:

Just make sure the sign is hanging from the pin and not from the button, otherwise it might not hold.

And there you have it! A sparkly and colorful New Year's Wreath to welcome the New Year, every year!
